Yes, it often gets touted as a “myth” about the mind. The status quo may be prefered by those with a stake in established systems. Today I read a prominent publication that suggested “multiple intelligence was akin to a skill or a cognitive ability as opposed to general intelligence”. I’m not sure where the difference lies there — at any rate the logic presented was that general IQ tests are the most reliable indicator of scholastic and life success. No shit Sherlock!! (excuse my language). Our society is skewed toward rewarding those who are naturally adept at traditional forms of intelligence such as linguistics and math-oriented logic. Whereas there are not adequate systems in place to support the development of those who fall into other types of intelligence. Grr..
