Too funny — I come from a profession (designers) that loves sans serif. We use it everywhere! Zack, I apologize on behalf of my tribe. Fortunately we don’t write long paragraphs terribly often ;)

As for me, well Medium forces a Serif mindset. C’est la vie.

I couldn’t agree more with your first point — who cares if people steal your ideas — we are all influenced in one way or another. There are hardly any original ideas — it is your personal take, the lens through which you view the world that is most interesting.
