Lately I heard about 4th Industrial Revolution. Since I write on new technologies and its impact on humans I wonder about these types of terminology. I feel there some degree of cross-over in thinking between what Rifkin and Klaus Schwab have to say about stages of industrial revolution —but I wonder it is too early for 4.0 (we are at 3.5 due to increased convergence of tech?) but a new phrase is conveniently coined as PR device maybe?

For now I have gone with 4.0 because I refer a lot to the futuristic thinking of Klaus Schwab in my writing. But I note many others still referring 3.0.

I hope 5.0 will not be upon us too soon….
