I know the feeling of wishing to share writing with friends and family. However I have come to the conclusion that they are not my target audience.

Blogging for audiences that include people I know (professionally or personally) blocks my writing. Whenever I have shared friend’s links with family members guess what? I’ve start censoring my writing.

To be true to yourself as a writer, it may be best to keep your writing to yourself. But at the sametime don’t forget — Medium is publicly accessible so if people in your life wish to know what you’re writing about they can read it.

It’s up to them.

Your writing on Medium is not a secret or hidden activity.

If they choose not to read what is in the public domain — that is their call.

Hope this helps
