I joined Medium in March this year and signed up for the partner program right away. By doing so, I may have dodged a bullet — meaning I only know the world of “paid posts” and thus have uncomplicated feelings around the business model. I know people who have been on the platform longer feel differently. Change is always challenging. But unless you are hitting massive numbers of views it is not a large amount of money. It provides a useful indication in real terms of reader engagement. That’s my two bits :)
