Don’t Ignore One Part of Your Life When You Write

I have a confession to make. Contrary to what you may expect, I am a very analytical person. I try to hide this quirk in my writing as much as possible, yet I am not sure I have succeeded.

The fact is I am a geek. I love data analytics.

Designing surveys is a forte of mine. For complete disclosure I should say analytics is part of what I get paid to do in my regular life.

As you might expect, I get a huge dopamine kick out of interpreting my Medium stats. I have already switched my publishing schedule from weekends to weekdays based on my analysis of the stats. It is clear to me from the data that the vast majority on Medium publish on Saturdays or Sundays, so you are better off publishing on a weekday. Monday or Tuesday works best for me.

If you take nothing else away from this article, you are welcome to have this “hack”. To recap: if you push out your content earlier in the week you will get higher views AND the weekend is all yours to relax :-)

But I digress…

From my analysis, I have identified a significant gap in my writing.
