A single clap feels lonely to me so I usually hold for at least 10 claps.

I used to dole out 50 claps all the time (spread the joy) but then I started running out claps!!

I think there is a “clap quota” in place— similar to the cap on the number of people you can follow in a single day. If I ever run out of claps (it still happens occasionally) I put comments instead.
